Collection: Drywall screws

At Building Supplies Online we completely understand that when it comes to working with drywall, not all fasteners are created equal. Because of the properties of drywall, it is important to make sure you use plasterboard screws or drywall screws that will provide a strong, long-lasting hold and allow for the appropriate amount of countersinking for the drywall screws or nails.

Our range of Drywall screws from Hafele and come in packs of 1000 from 32mm to 50mm in length. Some key information on the types of drywall screws, plasterboard screws and nails that work well on drywall installations.

Drywall Nails

There are three types of nails for fixing drywall:

Drywall nails feature a barbed or ring shank that provides a greater holding power.
Cement-coated nails have a smooth shank that is coated with resin to improve its holding power.
Cupped-head nails have a rounded head that is easier to countersink for a smoother finish.

Drywall Screws

These Screws will give a stronger hold for fixing drywall, but cost a bit more than nails and have a Phillips\' head.

Coarse drywall screws feature coarse threads to help secure gypsum board to studs.
Fine drywall screws have smaller heads and are used to help fixing drywall to metal studs.
Self-drilling and pan-head drywall screws can be used with metal studs or frames for fixing drywall.
Trim-head drywall screws should be used to attach wood trim over gypsum boards.
Drywall Screws can be driven in with a drill or electric drywall screw gun.
